my current winter skincare routine
Hey y’all! I hope y’all are having a great week so far. How is it already almost Christmas?! I feel like this time of year comes faster and faster every single year. Anyone else feel the same way? I love this time of year, and am hopeful that once in my lifetime we get a white Christmas. Believe it or not, its never snowed here on Christmas day in my lifetime (25 years!).
With the cold air always come dry skin. Y’all know that I have oily/combo skin, but this time of year my drier areas are always even more dry. I want to share an update with y’all how I change my routine up a little but for winter. I use the same face washes, and just use my nighttime moisturizer at now both nighttime and daytime.
Nighttime Routine
I always pre-cleanse with the Kefir Replenishing Cleansing Oil from Tula. It’s super hydrating, removes all traces of makeup (even waterproof eye makeup), and never stings my eyes. I always follow up with the
Purifying Cleanser to make sure my skin is fully cleaned for my products to best absorb. I use the Hydrating Day & Night Cream after cleansing, and I love how hydrating + nourishing it is. It absorbs quickly and isn’t ever greasy or oil.
Treatments
If I am having a breakout, I always use the Acne Gel – works wonders. Breakout is significantly reduced the next morning. Doesn’t dry out my skin either, which is a huge plus.
I exfoliate at night usually about once a week, and LOVE their
Dual-Phase Skin Reviving Treatment Pads. They work instantly and it’s cool to see all of the skin that’s exfoliated off right on the pad after you use it. 🙂
I exfoliate after cleansing, and If I’m using the acne gel, I apply it before my moisturizer.
Morning Routine
If I need it, I will cleanse my face with only the Kefir Replenishing Cleansing Oil . I then apply to Hydrating Day & Night Cream Moisturizer and then go about my normal make up routine. I keep it simple and it works. 🙂
About My Skin
I have very sensitive skin that is typically combination (dry and oily – so fun). All of the products I use work great on my sensitive skin, don’t cause any irritation or breakouts.
