I seriously can’t believe it’s been 4 weeks since Olivia was born. Goodness gracious I need time to SLOW DOWN! I am so excited to share this post with y’all, because these are all products that have been a life saver for me as a new mom over the past 4weeks. None of these are sponsored – just products I am truly loving and want to share with y’all. π Being a first time/new mama can be so overwhelming in so many ways. I hope this is helpful to y’all! Please DM me on Instagram or email me with any questions. π XOXO!
Nursing Bras
I would say that right now I have 3-4 favorite style nursing bras. All of these are super comfy too and are perfect for maternity wear too, especially this one! π This maternity bralette isn’t nursing, but is great for lounging around the house when you really just want to be comfy!
my fave everyday nursing bra
This lacey on is my favorite to wear under regular clothes AKA those days you make it our of your pajamas. It looks great under tops and is lightly padded, which I love. It’s also super comfy. I have the blush color, which is a light nude, and the black color. The black will be super cute under tanks this summer too, because it looks like a normal bralette and not an ugly nursing bra!
my fave seamless everyday bra
I love this one to wear under tanks when I go for a walk. I sleep in this one too because it’s so comfy. I have it on black, pink, and nude – the black is my fave for more sporty tops. π The pink color is so cuteΒ too! A lot of times I just walk around my house wearing this bra and my leggings. π This bra is perfect for preggo mommas too because it’s so stretchy and comfy!
sleeping nursing bra
This is my favorite nursing bra to wear to sleep, it also fits these washable nursing pads perfectly (which I also love). I wear it around the house too, but I love the slide down straps for easing nighttime nursing. It’s also on sale right now here. π
Leggings
These are my favorite high-waisted leggings – great for smoothing everything but not too tight like you’re wearing spanx or anything. I actually sized down in these to a small (from my normal medium), and love the way they fit. I wear them almost daily!!! They hold up very well in the wash too. π
These high-waisted capris (on sale right now!!!)Β are my favorite workout legging capris and I basically live in these. They’re also available to buy here & here.
These are my favorite athletic shortsΒ in black because they have a stretchy band. I was even able to wear these shorts my entire pregnancy too! π They match everything and are super comfy!
fave tops
Y’all know that I’m exclusively nursing, so it’s important to have tops that are nursing friendly! My fave tops right now are ones with buttons that are loose and comfy. For around the house it’s not as big of a deal, but if you’re going out somewhere or having company over, it is! If you’re wearing something that isn’t nursing friendly, you basically have to strip down to your bra or pull your dress up, and you’re basically naked haha.
tanks
These tanks are my all-time fave. I love the striped tank so much right now. π They were perfect during pregnancy too because they have a longer length. I wear my normal medium and like the looser and longer fit, especially with leggings! You can even wear them with shorts. Another cute way to wear this tank with shorts is to tie a knot on the side. π
dressier tops
All of these tops run true to size and I have my normal medium, unless noted otherwise! This long sleeve button down top is perfect for nursing, I have it in white and am also getting in in grey! It’s SO soft too! This grey button down short-sleeve top is also perfect for nursing and so cute for spring/summer. Both of these tops are from Chicory Lane Boutique and y’all can use code ‘morganbullard15’ to save 15% on your entire purchase!
I love this ruffle sleeve top, especially the navy + white stripes. It’s super comfy and buttons down to make it very nursing friendly. It comes in 6 colors too!! π This super cute henley top is also perfect for nursing, and I have it in oliveΒ (on major sale) and whiteΒ (also on major sale)! It’s very oversized, I sized down to an XS! It’s also available here too. π
tees
These are my favorite tees because they’re so comfy. They’re really easy to pull down too for nursing! I love wearing them with jeans and shorts in the summer. They’re so easy to just throw on and go. They also have super cute tanks and dresses that are all nursing friendly, and you can check them all out here! I also love this 3/4 tee and it’s super soft – I love the black and white stripes! It’s also super easy to pull down to nurse. This tee is one of my faves too! Comes in so many colors, is very flattering, and is also super soft + comfy.
sweaters
I have lived in these ‘snuggle up’ sweaters since the day after I delivered Olivia. I love the grey color the most, and the pink color is pretty great too. They’re the softest and coziest things ever. They’re not super thick either, so they’re perfect for spring weather. I love the oversized fit and they look so adorable with leggings and these sneakers! π
Toiletries
for the first 1-2 weeks home
If you delivered naturally, you’re definitely going to want the Frida Mama Bidet. They will give you a little squirt bottle at the hospital, but I started using this one as soon as we got home and it’s 200x better than the one from the hospital. Trust me on this one y’all! π I used this probably for the first 4-5 days after having her just to be safe. I use warm water and used it every time I went potty!
I really loved the pads from the hospital, so grab as many of those as you can too! I used these pads at home, and they don’t leak at all, which is a win in my book!
panties
I also lived in the hospital mesh panties for the first few days too, just because they’re so easy. Grab a couple extra pairs from your hospital if you can!Β I also highly recommend getting a few pairs of black boy short panties – these hipsters are my favorite in all black. They’re so comfy (& cute!!). That way you don’t have to worry about staining them (just being real!) and you’re not having to wash underwear every day! I got about 7 new pairs and I’m so glad I did!
Skincare/Beauty Products
Don’t forget to show yourself some TLC, mama! It’s the little things that make all the difference to me. Get yourself a couple of bath bombs (don’t forget you can’t take bath I think for 7-10 days after delivery), so you can pamper yourself ASAP! This blanket is so worth the money too. It’s one of my favorite things post-baby, because it’s super soft and luxurious. It just makes you feel good when you cuddle up with it, especially when you’re super exhausted. These socks are my fave too – so soft and cuddly!
self-tanner
I also made sure to self tan before delivery, because I knew I wasn’t going to wear any makeup. π This is my fave self tanner. I use The Water self-tanner in medium/dark on my body and The Face self-tanner on my face in medium/dark too. I apply the face self tanner every other night at bedtime and the body self tanner 1-2 times a week. I love the body self tanner because it’s clear and doesn’t rub off on your clothes or sheets! It also has a fabulous floral scent which I love. I apply it to my body using this self-tanner mitt.
body wash, face wash, & moisturizer
Make sure you have a gentle body wash too. This Dermalogica body wash is my favorite. This face wash is my favorite too and it’s also from Dermalogica. The face wash is soap free, removes all eye makeup and never burns my eyes! Both are super gentle and the body wash has such an amazing smell. I actually put a travel sized bottle of it in my hospital bag and used it to shower at the hospital! π As a new mom, you’re going to be exhausted. Keeping your skin hydrated is super important, and this is my favorite moisturizer for keeping my skin glowing. I have super sensitive skin and love how calming and gentle it is. I use it every morning and night!
other beauty essentials
Especially if you’re nursing, you’re going to constantly feel thirsty. My lips are so dry sometimes and this lip treatment is a life-saver for keeping them soft and hydrated. I keep it on my bedside and apply it nightly! Dry shampoo is also a must for new moms – this dry shampoo is my all-time fave. I highly recommend taking a can to the hospital and stocking up on a few for the first few weeks at home with your baby! The last thing I want to do is run out of dry shampoo, so I definitely stocked up beforehand haha.
My faves for baby + mama
feeding
I have been loving my Boppy to feed her and just for holding. This is the super-soft swan boppy cover I have on mine in the pinky fabric. It’s so cute and she has tons of other prints too (I also have the peach print!). It’s awesome for family members too because it takes a lot of weight off your arms from the baby! This Milk Boss nursing pillow from Itzy Ritzy is also amazing and I love how portable it is!
I also love the ‘BabyNursing’ app to track feeding Olivia! It’s super easy to use – it’s the one with the pink background and the little baby smiling on the app store. π I can see when I last fed her, which side, for how long, and so on. I am very forgetful on when I fed her last, so it helps me remember and see how long it has been since she last ate! I use it every single time I feed her!
Because you will always be thirty, getting a nice water bottle is a must. I love my pink corkcicle water bottle because it keeps my water cold all day and all night long. It’s so cute too, but more importantly, the water is soon cold and delicious in this bottle. π I have the 25 oz size to get in as much water as I can!
changing
We use this playard from Chicco downstairs and it makes mine + Drew’s life so much easier. It has a diaper caddy and a changing table built in. We can change her downstairs, and don’t have to walk upstairs to her nursery every time she needs her diaper changed. Sounds small, but makes such a huge difference. π We also have this portable changing pad on the floor in our room. My mom got it for us for one of my showers and it has been such a life saver! Because she’s sleeping in our room, it makes it so easy for us to lay her on this pad on our floor to change her.
She’s still sleeping in her DockATot next to me in our bed, and I love how convenient it is. I can see her so easily and don’t have to get up to feed her! Baby sleeper gowns are also such a lifesaver for new moms and dads. No snaps or buttons, it’s so easy to change her. They’re my favorite type of clothing piece for her right now and I wish that we had more of them! See all of these + more of my faves + pics here on my newborn essentials blog post! π
diaper bag + on the go essentials
I have been using this diaper bag for the first few weeks now. π I love how cute it is and convenient! Everything stays super organized and is easy to find! I love how it’s easy to wash too and you can also wear it as a backpack!
Thank you sooo much for the posts! They are so helpful!
Awww youβre so welcome! So happy to help!!! π
Thank you so much for this post! I’m due in a month and find this very helpful. Any chance you could share your hospital bag essentials? π
Of course! Glad you liked it! I actually already have a post on this from about a month and a half ago. π
