Hey y’all! Happy Monday!!! I can’t believe I am due with baby girl in THREE days! I thought this would be such a great time to talk about self-care, because it’s so important + especially important as a mama. It can be so easy to forget to take care of ourselves, because we’re always worrying about everyone else being taken care of. πŸ™‚ Here are some of my favorite things I do to take time for myself – even just for a few minutes every day or just throughout the week!

shaving my legs

Okay, I know this sounds funny but I love alone time in the shower either at morning or night to just relax, take a few deep breaths, and just start or end my day. I love having freshly shaven legs – they just make me feel good! Anyone else just love petting their leg after a good shave? haha.

Billie Razor + Shave Cream

I’ve heard so many good things about the Billie razor from literally everyone. I am so glad I jumped on the bandwagon and decided to try it. It’s hands-down the BEST shave I’ve ever gotten – SERIOUSLY. The shave cream is soooo silky smooth too and smells amazing. It helps the razor glide like butter and leaves my skin so soft. My legs are so soft after I shave – even Drew noticed a difference, which is a huge deal haha.

They’re super affordable too – the razor starter kit is only $9 and comes with 2 razor cartridges, the handle color of your choice (I love mine – it’s the blush!), and a nifty little magnetic holder for your tub or shower. πŸ™‚ It’s also only $9 for 4 replacement cartridges however often you need them! Finally a razor that’s affordable AND works amazingly well!

taking a bath

This goes hand in hand with the above, but makes you even more purposeful with relaxing. Especially being so pregnant now, I take a bath just about every single night while Drew lays Olivia down for bed. I love putting a few drops of lavender essential oil in my bath and it really just helps me feel relaxed + unwind after a long day of work + chasing around a toddler with my huge belly haha.

doing a daily devotional or reflection

I love doing my devotional every morning when I start my day. If devotionals aren’t your thing, I encourage you to write down how you’re feeling, a motivational quote, goals you have for that day or week, or just anything you want to write down to focus on being a better you. Personal reflection for me is very relaxing and can help center us – especially in times of crazy and just every day life.

painting your nails

I love getting my nails done at the salon, but I love painting my toes at home. I love mixing up my colors and I’m super clumsy, so my polish always chips quickly. It usually only takes 10 minutes or so, but is a nice way to spend a little time on yourself + I always feel so good with freshly painted toes! πŸ™‚

stretching

I have always been a huge fan of stretching – I really love doing it before bed and then when I wake up in the morning. I have an old stretch routine blog post that I love with my favorite stretches. They usually only take about 5-10 minutes, but are a great way to unwind or to start your day! πŸ™‚
