SHOP THE POST: MATERNITY PHOTO OUTFIT DETAILS
Happy Tuesday y’all! I’ve seriously been DYING to share these photos with y’all. I want to start off by thanking Jenn with Mirrored Images Photography for collaborating with me on these beautiful images. She is truly SO talented & passionate about her work, and it totally shows. From start to finish I was totally impressed with her. She knew how to get the most flattering angles of me, and even showed me how to pose by demoing the poses herself. I was nervous, you know the kind of nervous excited, before doing these because my body has changed so much during my pregnancy. Being 30 weeks pregnant for these, everything is a little bit bigger (especially my belly, which is a-lot-of-bit-bigger haha). Having her show my how to turn and pose this new body of mine was more than helpful & appreciated. She seriously got up on ladders/stools to get the perfect angles.
my session: before my session
Before the day of my session, I sent Jenn a BUNCH of pictures on my inspiration for my shoot. I wanted to make sure that she knew the specific shots/poses that I really wanted us to capture. To find images as inspiration I used Pinterest, and made notes on the captions of what I liked about each image I was saving. I made this a private board and only shared it with her, so I felt 100% comfortable sharing everything I truly loved & wanted to use as inspiration for my maternity session with Jenn.
Prepping for my sesssion
I did the full glam session from Mirrored Images. Jenn is such a professional and actually has tips and guidelines to follow before the shoot! Not wearing tight clothes, no makeup, etc. to have the perfect clean canvas to start with. No tight clothes because lines y’all! It was actually super fun showing up to my shoot in my pajamas and made for a very comfy ride up the Mirrored Images studio. 🙂 Jenn + her makeup artist/hair stylist were both there when I arrived to her studio. She immediately started on my hair + makeup and set my hair in hot rollers, which made me feel totally old school glam. I absolutely loved the finished look of my hair + makeup. My hair was loose, soft, messy waves, and my makeup looked AMAZING. I wish I could do my eye makeup like she did, because her smokey eye made my eye color pop like crazy! I seriously felt so beautiful.
during my session
Jenn knew exactly how to get each shot she was trying to take. I was seriously so impressed with how quickly she got the shot, because she would be like okay next pose, or let’s move over here. I’m like, you already got the shot? And she was like, yeah, look! I was dying at how beautiful her images looked on camera, I’m talking with zero edits y’all. She even had my pull up my Pinterest board throughout the session to make sure we were getting all of the shots I wanted. This really meant a lot to me, because it was important for her to get all of the shots I envisioned and wanted. She made me so comfortable during our sessions, and I had such a fun time shooting with her.
after my session
Just seeing the images on her camera during the shoot, I knew her pictures were going to be amazing. She edited them SO quickly and sent me a few sneak peeks before she finished them all. I seriously love every single image she captured of me. This is such a beautiful time in my life, being pregnant for the first time, and I truly feel like she captured the real, pregnant me. I love how she doesn’t over-edit, because I know what my body looks like & it’s so important for me to have that captured. It’s also very important to me to keep it real with y’all. 🙂 I’m currently working on getting an album with all of my fave shots, and I’m so excited to share it once it arrives. She just got some gorgeous new albums (super glam + luxe), and I’m so excited to see it in person!
my overall experience
I seriously LOVE these photos and am going to cherish them forever. I’m so thankful for Jenn for capturing this special moment in my life (& Drew’s). We’re going to be a family of 2 for just a little while longer, and it’s so special to me that I have these photos to remember my pregnancy, forever. Even if you’re not pregnant, I highly encourage you to get pictures like these done for yourself. If anything, do them for yourself! You will seriously feel the most beautiful that you’ve ever felt, and she will guide you every step of the way. I’m already so excited to shoot pictures with Jenn again in the future.
Thank you so much to Jenn from Mirrored Images for collaborating with me on my picture + this post! 🙂
