I am SO excited to be sharing this post with y’all today! We’ve been working on this fun project with Home Depot for a few months now, so I’m so excited to finally share the grand reveal.
I had so much fun ordering samples online from Home Depot – I was like a kid on Christmas morning when my samples arrived in the mail. For all of the main flooring, we chose the Lifeproof Padrutt Oak – 8.7 in W Luxury Vinyl Plank Flooring – I knew that I wanted a wide-plank, real + unfinished oak look, and these are PERFECT!
They have amazing texture to them and they feel so good. I love that they’re waterproof too – a huge deal for us since the basement is right off of the pool area. Plus, with 2 dogs and little ones always running around waterproof is always a good idea. 🙂 They also passed the scratch test for me too – I tried very hard to scratch both floors we chose and neither one of them showed any marks! No scratches was huge must have for us with our family. Our Lifeproof floors have ScratchProtect – the ultimate in scratch and stain resistance. Lifeproof was an easy choice for us – durable, beautiful, waterproof, and an amazing warranty.

The Lifeproof Padrutt Oak in the basement looks AMAZING! It seriously transformed the entire basement – it feels so much bigger and more open. Even the kitchen looks so different with the lighter floors – I love it! It doesn’t feel like a dark dungeon anymore and actually feels like it’s a part of the rest of our house. I can’t wait to finish decorating and make so many memories down here with the girls in the years to come.
For the basement, I wanted to do 1 room in a herringbone pattern.When I saw the LifeProof Blue Ridge Oak – Herringbone Luxury Vinyl Plank Flooring floors online on the Home Depot website – I knew I had to have them. When I got the sample in the mail – the color was gorgeous & I loved the wood grain texture. They are STUNNING and I wish I would’ve done them in another room too. They make such a statement and they’re truly beautiful.
Upstairs we did every room in the Padrutt Oak – it looks gorgeous up there and made all of the rooms look so much bigger. It’s crazy how flooring can drastically change a space. It’s so nice to finally have all of our renovation projects finished upstairs. 🙂
