Happy Tuesday, y’all! Sorry I have been MIA lately. Life, work, husband, and did I say life? haha have all been super busy lately! I’ll update y’all on my life and our new house very soon. 🙂 My blog is sometimes my escape from everything, where I can focus my me time. Blogging is so much fun for me and is my favorite hobby. I became a little discouraged blogging in the beginning, because others (people I considered friends!) acted like it was silly or my me feel stupid for doing it. It truly made me reflect a lot on a) why would I let someone make me feel bad about something I love and am passionate about and b) aren’t friends supposed to be the most supportive people of anyone in your life? Not trying to get super deep or anything on y’all today, however I have learned to just do what you love and OWN it. I like surrounding myself around people who make me feel good about myself and bring out the best in me, ya know! I’ll end my little anecdote here with one of my favorite quotes (I first heard it while doing a Blogilates workout video with Cassey Ho: “Some people are like clouds… When they disappear it becomes a brighter day.”
Now on to whatcha came here for. This outfit! I got this dress over Fourth of July weekend from one of my favorite boutiques and it was 40% off, score! I love a good sale and when I saw this dress I knew I had to have it. It’s going to be a great transitional piece into fall as well, and can be worn as a tunic with some bell-bottom jeans. I really, really want a new pair since they’re coming back in style. This dress is seriously a dream and paired with the purple Betsy Pittard Designs Choker, you’re sure to be a knockout. I wasn’t quite sure how I felt about the choker trend when I first started seeing them re-appear a few months ago (thanks to the Kardashians). Growing up chokers were my JAM and I’m pretty sure I owned every choker that was sold at Claire’s (seriously though). However, I am loving them now! 🙂 Especially the ones with intricate details, like the Betsy Pittard Designs choker I am wearing is made up of tiny purple beads. So cool! How do y’all feel about chokers? I hope they’re here to stay!
I recently got a new hair straightener from Folica and I am obsessed. Hair straighteners have come such a long way over the years, so that means you’re probably due for an upgrade! This hair straightener heats up quickly and isn’t going to fry your hair like straighteners of the past. Plus, it’s on sale +an additional 30% off right now so GO!
Sorry for the long post, y’all know I like to keep it short & sweet. With that, I hope y’all have an AMAZING week! And remember, be the friend to others that you would like to have. 🙂
omg yes I have been loving chokers too and have been on the hunt for some! And agreed with your first paragraph- you pick your friends so eliminate the ones that don’t make your life better. Keep doing what you love! <3 Love this look btw!
Thanks girl!!! You’re seriously the best! We need to get together SOON!
