Hey everyone! Today I am partnering with John Frieda and Preen.Me for the #FrizzFreeHairGoals Challenge. I am showing y’all how to do the Alicia Vikander half bun and smooth waves hairstyle that she wore to the 2016 Oscars. This hairstyle is the perfect half up hairstyle for prom, formal, date night, or anywhere, really. Even though this was worn to the Oscars, it definitely is not too glamorous for every day wear. This Alicia Vikander half bun is so easy and cute, you might just want to wear it every day! 🙂 Another huge trend at the 2016 Oscars was middle parts. How do y’all feel about them? My hair actually parts down the middle naturally, so next time I am at the salon I am going to ask for my hi-lights to work for a middle part as well. 🙂
Alicia Vikander Half Bun // Frizz Free Hair Goals How to:
To prep for the Alicia Vikander Oscar 2016 hairstyle, I started off with clean hair, and applied the John Frieda Frizz Ease Extra Strength Six Effects + Serum to my soaking wet hair. The reasons that I used this product to prep for blow-drying were that I wanted heat protection and very silky smooth hair. I focused on concentrating the product on the ends and working up about halfway up to my roots. I applied 2 pumps to my entire mid-length to ends. I then threw my hair up in a towel for 10 minutes before blow drying.
Immediately before blow drying, I then applied my Frizz Ease Straight Fixation Styling Creme to my hair, using the same method as the serum, focusing on mid-length down to the ends. I took the small amount of excess product and worked it lightly through my bangs and the top sections of my hair. Even though I knew I would be curling my hair, I wanted my hair to be as straight as it could be before curling. This helps to create waves instead of tight curls.
I curled my hair like normal with my Theorie Quantum Switch Curling Wand, and styled it in the half up bun hair style. To secure the bun in place, I used one of my Scunci No Damage Polybands. I love these little clear hair elastics because they do not pull on my hair (or pull out my hair haha) whatsoever. After the look was complete, I took the Frizz Ease Secret Weapon Touch-Up Creme and put a small amount in my palms and rubbed together. I lightly brushed over any flyway hairs or baby hairs that were noticeable with my fingers as the final touch for my smooth look.
After using all 3 of these products in conjunction, I am so impressed how well they worked and how well they worked together. They protected my hair from all of the heat styling, and left my hair so soft and smelling GREAT! I was even more impressed by the fact that my frizz stayed away all day, hashtag frizz free hair goals. 🙂 It was actually raining and really gross outside on this day. After being outside throughout the day, my hair still looked incredible and frizz-free at the end of the day. This is a huge deal for me, because the humidity always makes my hair so poofy and frizzy. I cannot wait to try out the other products in the line because these worked so well for me.
