Hey y’all! Mondays always seem to get here so quickly! Anyone else feel like the weekends FLY BY and the weekdays are like 10x longer? Surely I’m not alone. 🙂

I wanted to give an update on our diaper bag as I’m always getting asked which one is my favorite. I’ve carried my Lily Jade Meggan Diaper Bag ever since Olivia was born and they’re hands-down my favorite. They’re amazing quality, I love the leather, and they’re beautiful. They don’t scream “I’m carrying a diaper bag” by any means. 🙂 I love the removable insert and the strap on the back to you can carry it as a backpack. When I’m by myself, I love the backpack carry as it lets me be more hands free with Olivia!

I’ve been loving the black + gold Meggan Diaper Bag for winter-time. It matches everything and the leather is GORG! The cognac color is my fave for the warmer months, but it’s so dang cold, who knows, maybe I’ll be carrying the black around forever haha. I hope not – I’m so ready for spring! 🙂

I also wanted to give y’all an update on our schedule/Olivia’s schedule as I get that question all the time, and figured it would be nice to have a place to point everyone too as each month she changes, and I seem to forget what stages she was at last month. But really, I was talking to someone this month and I couldn’t even remember how old she was when she started rolling over. Sorry Liv! Mom brain is too real. :’)

our schedule – 10 months old

Olivia currently goes to bed around 8-8:30 and she sleeps through the night until 8-9am. She’s been a good sleeper honestly since the beginning, and we transitioned her from our room in her bassinet to her room in her crib around 6 months. I’ll talk more on sleep training below if you’re interested. I nurse her first thing in the morning, she plays, I work, and then she goes down for her first nap usually 2-3 hours from the time she wakes up. I usually nurse her to sleep before her nap too.

She usually takes a really good first nap, around 2 hours and then gets up, I nurse her again. I’ll feed her a pouch or a little bit of my lunch too as well. She also loves puffs, so I give her those on the floor while she’s playing. Typically 3 hours (sometimes less/more) she goes down for nap #2. She’s been a lot more reluctant lately to actually sleep for her second nap lately, so I’m hoping it’s not time to give it up yet! She will usually sleep for around an hour. If she doesn’t, I leave her up there for her “nap time,” and she will cry a little but, but usually ends up playing until I go get her.

Nap time is when I get the most work done for the day, and it was hard in the beginning letting her cry if she didn’t fall asleep. But, I’ve learned it’s better to leave her, and she eventually got used to it! 🙂 After her second nap, it’s usually around 4/5pm, and I’ll play with her until dinner-time. Drew usually gets home from work between 5-6 and he works out for an hour. We try to eat dinner between 6-7pm. Then, we give her a bath a few times a week, and I like to start it around 7:30! We’ll let her play a half hour, and then I’ll nurse her to sleep upstairs and lay her down for the night.

She does sleep in her sleep sack still and we love it! We have a few and I will link my favorite here. She’s 19 pounds and is still wearing the small size that we transitioned her into when she was around 5-6 months old (when she started rolling over and couldn’t be swaddled anymore). 🙂

sleep training

So many of y’all send me messages asking if we sleep trained. I typically say no, because I really didn’t do anything formal. But, I’ll share what we did and you can decide if we did or not, because I’m really not sure lol. We transitioned her from her into her crib at night when she was 6 months old. We stated doing naps om her crib to ease her into it, and get her familiar with her room (around 4-5 months old). She was really good about napping in her room, and was already sleeping through the night in our room in her bassinet.

The first night was terrible. She actually started teething so we decided to wait another week, and I’m so glad we did! The second time around was much easier. She fell asleep nursing, woke up crying for a few minutes and fell back asleep on the first night. The second night, I laid her down (she was sleepy but not asleep), and she cried a good 10-15 minutes. Went in checked on her, left, and repeated until she was asleep. Night 3 she went down no problem (fell asleep nursing). Ever since then she’s been great!

I still nurse her to sleep and sometimes she’s restless and doesn’t want to go down. So I lay her in her bed and leave her. She cries for 5 minutes usually and then goes to sleep! Sometimes it’s longer, and it’s hard to leave her in there! But, I do and I’m so glad because it’s made her such a good sleeper and it’s so nice for me and Drew to have our room back. 🙂

nursing

I’m still nursing Olivia throughout the day – on demand. 🙂 I feed her right when she wakes up, before her first nap, after her first nap, before her second nap, after her second nap, and then before bed! So usually 5-6 times throughout the day! The Bravado nursing bras are my fave – I always get them from Nordstrom because they have the best return policy. The Silk Seamless Nursing Bras (I have the peony, nude, and black) are my fave for every day (SO COMFY!) and the Buttercup Nursing Bra (in bare) is my fave on days I want to feel like I’m wearing a real bra. It’s super comfy, padded, and doesn’t give you the dreaded uni-boob!
