I’m not going to lie, one of my biggest fears when we started trying for a baby was getting stretch marks. I know that sounds so silly, but it’s something I’ve always been terrified of! Pregnancy already makes your body change and transform in so many other ways, so stretch marks are just another *perk* of carrying the most precious gift in the world! I made it my personal goal to prevent them as best as I can, so I sharing with y’all my preventing stretch marks routine. I’m currently 31 weeks pregnant and am ALL belly (anyone who knows me will tell you that too). I do not have a stretch mark yet, so I guess only time will tell. But, I really feel like my routine + the products I’ve used have help prevent/minimize them so far throughout my pregnancy.

These are my tips to help minimize stretch marks, and hopefully help prevent them too! I actually have stretch marks from my pre-teen years on my thighs, so I am definitely prone to them. I can’t guarantee that these tips will 100% prevent them, but anything that can help to me is worth trying +sharing! 🙂 I’ve been very happy with my overall skin clarity throughout my pregnancy & feel like my routine/supplements have helped keep my skin glowing + clear too (for both my face & body!)!

My Tips for Preventing Stretch Marks

I have 2 go-to types of products that I’ve been using the prevent stretch marks. They’re from an amazing company called The Spoiled Mama and are seriously such amazing quality products. I use a belly oil + belly butter every night & morning on my belly and sides. I drink 2 scoops of collagen powder every morning. I add it to my morning BCAAs which are basically amino acids with a little caffeine. You can also add the collagen to your coffee or smoothies, it’s completely flavorless (which makes it even more amazing!).

Stretch Mark Oil + Stretch Mark Tummy Butter

From about 13/14 weeks or so (when I started showing), I started using The Spoiled Mama products. I use their Stretch Mark Oil, Bump Gloss, & their Tummy Butter for Stretch marks religiously every day. They sell both of these products together in a bundle – The Spoiled Mama Stretch Mark Prevention Kit. I apply it every morning when I first get out of bed, and Drew rubs my belly down every night. I get my entire belly all the way down to my hips and all the way up to my bust & my sides (they can get stretch marks too!). I apply the Bump Gloss first and then the Tummy Butter second. They both smell AMAZING! One of my favorite parts of the day is crawling into bed and letting Drew rub my belly. He always talks to the baby when he’s doing this, and it’s seriously the sweetest. 🙂

I love these specific products because they are made by a company that only makes products for pregnant mamas and new mamas! The quality of their products is amazing, and you can save some money by getting bundles (which I highly recommend!). I’ve been using the Bump Gloss + Tummy Butter twice a day, every day since I was 13/14 weeks & I still have at least half of both products left. I am very generous with the amount I apply of each product too. I use about 6 pumps of the oil, it absorbs very quickly too which I love. For the Tummy Butter, I use enough to cover everything very thoroughly as well. I feel like my original bottles are going to last me my entire pregnancy!

Other Stretch Mark Prevention Products

I have also tried their body scrub, Indulge Peppermint Sugar Scrub for stretch mark prevention as well. It smells SO YUMMY! It leaves my skin feeling so hydrated & so soft! I love using this at night-time before I apply my bump gloss + tummy butter for even more hydration. To clean the rest of my body I use their body wash, Luxe-Mama, & it seriously smells like a sugar cookie.

Collagen Supplements to Prevent Stretch Marks

I take the Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides collagen supplement every morning with my morning beverage. Collagen protein is SO good for your overall skin health. Collagen actually helps restore the skin’s moisture, improving the elasticity, tone and vibrancy. It is actually a huge building block for our bodies for our hair, skin, nails, & joints. Benefits from collagen are said to be: glowing skin, A more youthful appearance, joint health, improved digestion, gut health, deeper sleep, & more! Even if you’re not pregnant, collagen is an amazing supplement to start implementing into your daily health + beauty routine. The benefits are seemingly endless and I truly feel like my skin never looks better when I’m taking it daily.

Every morning, I drink 2 scoops, which is 1 serving. I love that is doesn’t taste at all, so it’s perfect for coffees – hot or cold and smoothies! I love Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides, because they’re products are such a high quality, which is always so important to me, but especially now that I’m pregnant. Their collagen comes from grass fed & pasture raised cows, which is great to know it’s sustainable sourced! Their collagen peptides dissolve completely within seconds and honestly don’t taste like anything. It’s never chunky or clumpy, which I love because I can’t even taste or notice it mixed into my drinks!

Water + Exercise

I thought you said extra fries! Hah kidding. Walking every day is so beneficial to your body during your pregnancy. I try to walk at least 30 minutes a day to help stay in shape & keep my blood flowing. Drinking plenty of water is obviously key to staying hydrated, but even more important when you’re pregnant. Staying hydrated also has great benefits for your skin, which in turn could potentially help prevent or minimize stretch marks. Staying hydrated also helps prevent preterm labor, so drink up mama! I also love these Smart Pants Prenatal Complete vitamins. I have been taking them daily since the day I found out I was pregnant & they’re packed full of goodness for you + your baby.
