Neutrogena Light Therapy Acne Mask
Happy Monday! If y’all watch my Instagram stories, then you’ve already seen that I am trying something new for my skin! My entire life (it seems) I’ve struggled with acne. I remember my acne starting when I was around 12 or 13. I absolutely hated everything about it, and honestly felt so ugly because of the way my skin looked. This is honestly what got me so interested in makeup and beauty at such a young age. I’ve literally tried everything under the sun from prescriptions from the dermatologist to $1000s of dollars at high-end stores like Sephora trying to find the cure to my bad skin.

Now that I am 23, my skin isn’t nearly as bad as it was in my teen days, but I still feel like I don’t have clear skin. I will get hormonal acne around my nose, and breakout on my cheeks a lot (my guess is from talking on the phone – I always breakout on the one side I hold my phone).

I’ve always been super interested in light therapy for acne treatment, but in the derm’s office it can cost upwards of $500 for ONE treatment. Sorry y’all, I’m not a Kardashian and even if I were I just can’t justify spending that kind of money. I recently discover that you can actually use the same technology that your terms use at home, for a FRACTION of the cost!

For the next 30 days, I am going to be using the Neutrogena® Light Therapy Acne Mask at home every night to treat my acne. The lights in the mask actually work to heal the skin, and go beneath the skin’s surface to kill the bacteria that causes acne to form. There are a mixture of blue & red lights, which make the mask glow purple when you’re wearing it (it’s actually really cool looking!). The blue lights actually kill the bacteria, and the red lights help reduce inflammation.

This Neutrogena Light Therapy Acne Mask can be purchased from Walmart & it comes with an activator that gives you a 1 month (30 day) supply of treatment. You can purchase additional treatments at Walmart for only $14.97, which is only 50 cents a day! 🙂

It’s super lightweight & easy to wear. I wear mine while watching TV! It has a port for your eyes, so you can multi-task while you mask. 😉 It also lets you see how many uses you have left for the activator. (Shown in the pic below)

In one month from now, I will do an update post on my thoughts and how well the Neutrogena Light Therapy Acne Mask worked for me! I will start seeing results in 1 week, and maximum results by 12 weeks. In a clinical study, 98% of the people test showed significant results.  Here are my skin care tips to maintain healthy glowing skin at home. 🙂

My tips to maintain healthy glowing skin at home:

Neutrogena Light Therapy Acne Mask and Clean & Clear makeup dissolving wipes Neutrogena Light Therapy Acne Mask

  1. ALWAYS take off all of your makeup by washing your face at the end of the day. This a is a habit my mom engrained in me before I even started wearing makeup. Getting into a cleansing routine will make it so much easier to maintain long term. These Clean & Clear® Makeup Dissolving Facial Cleansing Wipes are amazing at removing everything.
  2. Drink water!!! I swear water is the cure for everything (not really but kind of). Water helps hydrate you obviously, but it also helps hydrate your skin. Dry skin is actually more prone to breakouts, so drink up! 🙂
  3. Clean up your diet. Blah blah, not going to get on my high horse here but y’all know to look good and feel good, you have to put goodness in!

Where to find your Neutrogena Light Therapy Acne Mask

Another thing I love about this mask is that you can find it at Walmart! You can find it on the acne aisle in the beauty section of the store. See below on where I found it in my store! 🙂
