Happy New Year’s Eve y’all! WHERE has this year gone?! So many amazing things have happened this year, 2016 is definitely one to be remembered. Today my blog is officially ONE YEAR old! I seriously can’t believe it. What a fun year it has been! Starting off, I had absolutely no clue what I was doing. I had no clue which direction my blog would take. But, I knew that if I was going to do it, now is the time. So if you’re reading this now and have been thinking about doing something , whatever it is in your life, do it! Thinking about switching careers, starting a blog, getting healthy? Make this your time and just do it unapologetically and whole-heartedly. It’s better to try and “fail” then to never try at all. 🙂

I’m so thankful with how far I’ve come this year with my blog. I’ve had some amazing opportunities come my way, and have made some amazing friendships. My life will never be the same as it was before I started, and totally for the better! 🙂 I’m so excited as to where my blog will take me in 2017. Thank YOU for helping me grow and following along. All of your emails, messages, and comments seriously mean so much to me!

I want this to be a fun post and interactive with y’all. After all, I am creating the content for YOU, so y’all’s thoughts and wants are of utmost importance to me! I put out a post on Insta stories and had y’all send me questions! The questions below are ones that were sent to me for that! I also have added some more questions that I have been asked and emailed about over the course of this year. 🙂

WHY DID YOU START YOUR BLOG?

I started my blog because I’ve always been the friend to get beauty, style, hair, and fitness advice! Starting in high school, my friends loved for me to do their hair and makeup. Even as early as eighth grade! In college, I helped my friends get ready for formals and events from helping with hair and makeup to helping style outfits! I’ve always loved making people feel their best and most beautiful. Making other people feel good about themselves truly makes me happy.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE BLOG POST THIS YEAR?

That’s a hard question! I’ve loved them all, but collaborating with Madewell was probably my favorite. It was seriously the coolest, and my favorite style collab to date! 🙂

WHAT’S THE COOLEST THING YOU’VE DONE THROUGH BLOGGING?

Good question! So recently y’all know I won the trip to LA to hangout with the POPSUGAR Beauty team! That trip was seriously so much fun and I wouldn’t have guessed in my wildest dreams when I was starting out last year that I would have had that opportunity! I will have a re-cap post, with a lot of video ;), coming for y’all very soon! 🙂

DO YOU BLOG AS YOUR FULL-TIME JOB?

I wish! That is the goal for sure. 🙂 I work full-time Mon-Fri as an outside sales rep! So I sell during the day, and blog at night and on weekends!

WHAT IS YOUR FITNESS ROUTINE?

I love mixing it up, but sometimes the tried and true just work! I absolutely love Pure Barre, but we live super far from then all now. I’m a huge believer in PIIT28, so check out my posts on my journey with that! To date, I’ve never seen such amazing results and body-transformation as I have with PIIT28. I actually re-started PIIT this month, and am re-starting again tomorrow on Jan 1!

WHAT DO YOU EAT IN A DAY?

A lot! Just kidding, well not really. 🙂 I answer this a little in the PIIT28 posts. But, I have a lot to say about this question, and I am going to do a post on this in the next couple of weeks. So, stay tuned! 🙂 My staple items are: egg whites, natural peanut butter, ezekiel bread, fresh berries (strawberries, blackberries, blueberries), lean meats (chicken, ground turkey, extra lean beef), and coffee, duh. 😉

WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE HAIR PRODUCTS?

I did a hair care routine post a little while back and I’m still using all of those products! I do like to switch up my shampoo and conditioner though pretty frequently, so I’ll do an updated hair routine post soon! 🙂 My goal for 2017 is to grow my hair out and get it the longest and healthiest it’s ever been!

WHAT ARE YOUR EVERY DAY MAKEUP PRODUCTS?

See my every day makeup routine post/video. 🙂 Every single product is still what I use today. 🙂 I have added the Benefit Roller Lash to my routine too, and have been loving it!

WHAT KIND OF CAMERA DO YOU USE?

I use a sony a5100 mirrorless camera, and I LOVE IT! It’s the best camera I’ve ever had! I use it for my blog pics and my videos. I shoot with the standard lens for my videos, and use a 50mm lens for my blog pics! The 50mm lens is what creates the beautiful background blur. 🙂

HOW DO YOU EDIT YOUR PHOTOS?

I use Photoshop CC if I have time to edit on my computer, but most of the time I use Photoshop Fix on my iPhone to increase the lighting in the background and pop the colors! I then use VSCO Cam to filter my photos for Instagram. 🙂 My Fave VSCO filters are A6 and S3, but I almost always use S3!

WHAT KIND OF LIGHTING DO YOU USE?

For outdoor pics, I just use natural lighting! For indoor pics, I always take them in front of a window and use this ring light. It’s seriously the best and I use it in all of my videos.

WHO TAKES YOUR PICTURES?

My amazing husband, Drew! My blog wouldn’t be what it is today without him. He has been seriously so supportive, kind, and encouraging from day one.

HOW DID YOU AND DREW MEET?

We met through mutual friends when I was 14 in 9th grade, and have been dating ever since! I did a post on our story here if you want to read more about us. 🙂

WHAT DID YOU WANT TO BE WHEN YOU GREW UP?

A doctor. 😉 Didn’t we all?!

WHAT’S THE HARDEST PART OF BLOGGING?

Not knowing if I am actually creating content that y’all love! It’s so hard to know what y’all want to see, and I’m always so surprised at what ends up doing well. 🙂 So, it truly mean so much when y’all send me requests! In the beginning, putting myself out there was the most challenging, but it’s the most fun part for me now. In the beginning I had friends act really weird to me about blogging, and now I don’t even think twice about it. 🙂 Remember, choose your friends and choose your happiness!

WHO’S YOUR FAVORITE BLOGGER?

Oh my goodness! I love so many bloggers. I would say Amber Fillerup of Barefoot Blonde. She honestly was my inspiration for starting my blog. I also love following Blogilates, Cara Loren, Chronicles of Frivolity, Olivia Rink, Southern Curls and Pearls, and Twist Me Pretty! 🙂

WHAT’S YOUR GO TO OUTFIT?

Jeans, a cute top, and riding boots in fall/winter and I LIVE in dresses in the spring/summer. Shirt dresses are my fave  for work, and swing dresses are my favorite for every day. 🙂 I also am obsessed with wedges, so I wear them daily spring-early fall. 🙂
